Kamala Harris smashes fundraising record with $81 Million in 24 hours!

This enormous haul, which includes money raised across the campaign, the Democratic National Committee and joint fundraising committees, represents the largest 24-hour sum reported by either side in the 2024 campaign. Harris’ campaign said it was the largest single-day total in U.S. history. “The historic outpouring of support for Vice President Harris represents exactly the kind of grassroots energy and enthusiasm that wins elections,” Munoz said. Hours earlier, Future Forward, the largest super PAC in Democratic politics, announced it had secured $150 million in commitments over the same period from donors who were “previously stalled, uncertain or uncommitted,” a senior adviser said.

Trump rally bystander killed ..update

What has come to light during the investigation is that Comperatore was a strong republican supporter and the shooter came from a republican leaning family. This is republicans attempting to kill republicans. The shooter is dead and it is ironic considering it's the Democrats that are trying to change the gun laws while it is Republicans like Trump who support the NRA and in fact is endorsed by them. It has also come to light that the wife of Comperatore has refused to take any calls from Biden in honor of her slain husband. Biden immediately reached out to Trump and condemned this murder attempt. It's clear the republicans would not do the same if the murder attempt was on a Democrat!

President Joe Biden has decided not to run again in November 2024.

Two great presidents. On Sunday President Joe Biden decided to give in to Democratic party pressure in wake of his poor performance in his debate with Donald Trump. Once again, the president has put his country before himself. He has endrosed Kamala Harris for president! Many believe (as do we) that he still could have won this race for the second time but based on current polling and pressure from insiders he deemed that the risks were too high and that VP Kamala Harris has a much better chance of defeating Donald Trump in the fall.

9/11 Plotters Plea Deal Revoked

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin abruptly revoked a plea deal for the alleged mastermind of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks and his co-conspirators, and he relieved the overseer in charge after years of effort to reach an agreement to bring the cases to a close. In a surprise memo quietly released Friday night, Austin said the responsibility for such a significant decision “should rest with me.”

Only two days earlier, the Pentagon announced that it had reached a plea deal with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, more commonly known as KSM, and two other defendants – Walid Bin ‘Attash, and Hawsawi – accused of plotting the attacks. The memo, addressed to Susan Escallier, the convening authority for military commissions who runs the military courts at Guantanamo Bay, said the defense secretary would immediately withdraw her authority in the cases and “reserve such authority to (himself).”

Russia angry with Greece

On March 6, Russia fired a missile into the Ukrainian port of Odesa that exploded about 400 metres (1,300ft) from where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was preparing to tour the city with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. “As we were getting into our cars, we heard a large explosion,” Mitsotakis later told reporters. “We were all concerned, especially if you consider that we were in an open space with no cover. It was quite savage.”

Many Western leaders have visited Zelenskyy, but this was the only occasion when there was a plausible threat to their life and safety. Analysts in Athens do not believe it was an accident. “It was a message to Greece, a message to the Russophilic portion of Greek society,” said Konstantinos Filis, a professor of international relations who directs the Institute of Global Affairs at the American College of Greece.
That Russophilic population is dropping dramatically. According to Dianeosis, an Athens-based think tank, about 70 percent of Greeks had a favourable view of Russia before the full-blown war in Ukraine. That fell to 50 percent after the 2022 invasion and to 30 percent last year.
“The Russians are very annoyed with the Greeks,” Filis told Al Jazeera. “Greece has supported Ukraine very clearly from the beginning.”

Top Democrats endorse Kamala Harris for President!

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination for president during a news conference in Washington on Tuesday. “When I spoke with her Sunday, she said she wanted the opportunity to win the nomination on her own, and to do so from the grassroots up, not top down,” Schumer said. “Now that the process has played out from the grassroots, bottom up, we are here today to throw our support behind Vice President Kamala Harris.” Jeffries echoed Schumer’s sentiment about Harris’ emphasis on winning grassroots support, stating that her candidacy “energized” Democrats and the nation.

Hunter Biden Guilt on all Counts

Hunter Biden, son of U.S. President Joe Biden, has been found guilty on three counts, including breaking a law barring illegal drug users from owning firearms. It was the first time a child of a sitting U.S. president went on trial for a crime. U.S. President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden was convicted by a jury on Tuesday of lying about his drug use to illegally buy a gun, making him the first child of a sitting U.S. president to be convicted of a crime. A 12-member jury in Wilmington, Del. — hometown of the Biden's — found the defendant guilty on all three counts against him. Hunter Biden, 54, lightly nodded his head after the verdict was read and stared straight ahead, but otherwise showed little reaction. He then patted his lawyer Abbe Lowell on the back and hugged another member of his legal team. Lowell said in a statement they would "vigorously pursue all the legal challenges available to Hunter." Hunter Biden still faces a separate tax case in California. The trial took place against the background of a Nov. 5 presidential election pitting Democrat Joe Biden against his Republican predecessor Donald Trump, who was himself found guilty at a landmark New York state trial last month. After about three hours of deliberation, the jurors found Hunter Biden falsely claimed to be free of illegal drugs when he filled out a government screening document for a Colt Cobra revolver in 2018 and then illegally possessed the weapon. In a statement, Hunter Biden said he was more grateful for the love and support he had received than he was disappointed by the guilty verdict. He said he was "blessed" to experience the gift of recovery "one day at a time." U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika set no date for sentencing, but added the timeline is usually within 120 days. That would place it no later than a month before the Nov. 5 U.S. presidential election. President Joe Biden issued a statement saying he accepted the outcome of the case and would respect the judicial process as his son considers an appeal. Sentencing guidelines for the gun charges are 15 to 21 months — and a maximum sentence would be up to 25 years in prison — but legal experts say defendants in similar cases often get shorter sentences and are less likely to be incarcerated if they abide by the terms of their pretrial release.

US Supreme Court Upholds Gun Law

The Supreme Court handed down its most significant gun control ruling in two years, upholding a federal law that bars people who are the subject of domestic violence restraining orders from owning weapons. With conservatives and liberals joining the 8-1 majority, the decision was a major win for gun safety groups and victims of domestic violence. It limited a controversial standard the high court’s conservatives had set down in 2022 that required gun prohibitions to have a connection to history to survive constitutional scrutiny.

But the majority opinion from Chief Justice John Roberts also left unanswered key questions about when the government may disarm non-violent criminals. The case centered on a 1994 law that bars people who are the subject of domestic violence restraining orders from possessing guns. A Texas man, Zackey Rahimi, was convicted for violating that law following a series of shootings.

The Latest Supreme Court Abortion Case

The Supreme Court appears ready to rule that hospitals in Idaho may provide medically necessary abortions to stabilize patients at least for now, despite the state’s strict abortion law, according to a copy of the opinion that was briefly posted on Wednesday to the court’s website and obtained by Bloomberg News. The document suggests that a 6-3 ruling from the court will reinstate a lower court’s order to allow Idaho emergency rooms to provide abortions that save a woman’s health as the broader legal case plays out.

The Justice Department had sued Idaho over its abortion law, which allows a woman to get an abortion only when her life — not her health — is at risk. Idaho doctors say they were unable to provide the stabilizing treatment the federal law requires and that is typically standard of care, prompting them to airlift at least a half-dozen pregnant patients to other states since Idaho’s law took effect in January.
